There was a cell phone company that, not long ago, had a commercial that gave stats on how many people were
tweeting right now, then followed it with the number of people who had no idea what tweeting was. At first glance, Twitter seems rather self-promoting. You throw 140 characters of what you're thinking out into the world. However, there are great reasons for students to use Twitter; most of which have already been covered in other venues. Here's a few:
Accessible Twitter Applications
The Twitter website itself has some
accessibility issues. But don't despair! There are alternate ways to access Twitter. Here's a few accessible ways to do so:
- Accessible Twitter is a website alternate for the Twitter website, but ensures accessibility
- Qwitter is a Twitter client designed for blind and low vision users, compatible with screenreaders
- Tweets60 is an accessible version for the Nokia S60 smartphone
